Loves to Run in Kingman

I had a great race on Sunday :-) I PR'd at 1:44:20 in the PF Changs Rock N Roll Arizona half-marathon. I felt GREAT and I ran well with my good buddy Anna :-) I think the trick was eating WELL the night before and having a light, but energy-filled breakfast in the morning! In Vegas I really hit the wall - and I think it was because I hadn't been eating right! Lesson learned.

I ran 4 miles that were over 8 minute miles - miles 8, 9, 10 and 11. All the rest were under 8 minutes/mile - my fastest mile being lap 1 at 7:36. I had a REALLY wonderful time in sunny Phoenix, Arizona!!! I got to stay with my mom that evening at the Arizona Grand Resort - what a nice place - and we had dinner at Claim Jumper's by the Arizona Mills mall. This is pretty fancy stuff for a girl from Kingman :-)

It was pretty much the best race ever - the whole trip was a great experience, and I really enjoyed running with Anna, one of my most favorite running buddies of all TIME! :-)

Ok ok ok. I probably should NOT have run today ... but ... I did :-) i need to keep my LUNGS open, you know? So I did a quick 3.5 in 30:05 with Anna at Centennial park. Kind of windy today - but it was a nice run - and a REALLY nice long stretch afterwards (we even did cartwheels). Tomorrow = day off and then Sunday is the BIG DAY!

6.0 miles today - what a gorgeous day out there in Kingman, 53 degrees and sunny! Total time 51:18. Fastest mile: 8:11. Race day is Sunday in Phoenix and the weather should be about 73 degrees and partly cloudy! BRING me some Sunshine, dear Phoenix :-)

It was a COLD run after work today :-) About 29 degrees out there, wind at 10mph (really? that's all??? it felt very windy out there!) 3 miles in 28:00 - avg page 9:19 min/mile.

I ran 13.1 in 1:57 today! I can usually do under 2 hours when I'm in training - but I've NEVER done under 2 hours at an EVENT, for goodness sakes!!! :-) This is my GOAL next Sunday in Phoenix at the Rock N Roll half-marathon with my friend Anna Banana.

The wind was WHIPPING today in Kingman! Anna whooped me at the Rock N Roll half in Las Vegas last month :-) She is an EXCELLENT runner - and she inspires me to run faster :-) It was great to run with her today!

Avg pace today was 8:56/mi. Best mile was lap 3 at 8:23 :-)

My goal is to run under 2 hours at the Rock N Roll Arizona coming up on January 16th! It will be my 4th half-marathon and I've never run under 2 hours ... YET!!! :-)

I got a second run in today for an additional 4 miles - avg pace 8:57 min/mi.

Today I ran with the Kingman Running Club - Kerry, Chris and Burt. We ran from the Gas 'N Grub on Hualapai Mtn Road - up to the Hualapai Mtn Ranger Station! It was an excellent run! I walked the last mile and a half - because, MAN, it was steep :-) Mileage was 11.1 and my total time was 2:10. Avg pace (according to my Garmin 205) was 11:42/mi. My fastest mile was mile 2 - I ran it in 9:56. What a GREAT way to start out the New Year!!! :-) - Cari
